Job Title: Technical Program Manager III 32633-1Duration: 12 Months (W2 Possible Conversion) Location: RemoteBaltimore, MD, Boston, MA , Houston, TX, Los Angeles, CA and San Diego, CA As a TPM for Research, your focus will be exploring and delivering breakthrough solutions (hardware, software and systems) for computer vision and photographic image sensors. You will be a part of an innovative team working to create novel image sensors, custom compute, signal processing algorithms and sensing systems architectures.With the development of new silicon with customized silicon IP, to be successful, you will eliminate barriers to your team’s success, clearly communicate results to all stakeholders and ensure the big picture stays in focus while delving into the details on specific issues. Ideal team members are adaptable and resilient, eager to attack unfamiliar problems with curiosity and tenacity, and able to use a light touch to find ways to help the team be more efficient.Job ResponsibilitiesContribute to the definition of new programs schedules, deliverables and milestones definition. Interact with Systems Research Team program leaders, Meta Business units and external vendors for contract definition and budget negotiation.Own program management strategy and execution for new image sensor silicon development from concept to mass production.Manage the design, development, and delivery of custom IP from concept to system validation in collaboration with external vendors and foundries.Work with a cross-functional team of silicon, hardware engineers, software engineers and PMs to set clear deliverables milestones, create integration plans, and identify risks with mitigation plans to deliver sensor solutions.Work with research and production engineering teams on IP development and technology transfer.Build and maintain strong working relationships across the Sensors and Systems Research team and cross-functional leadership.Develop schedules, identify critical paths and bottlenecks and maintain execution throughout the duration of programs.Work cross-functionally to develop best practices and technology development processes in a quickly-changing and dynamic environment to ensure on time delivery.Ensure program documents are complete, current and available for staff and leadership review.SkillsVerbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.Knowledge of silicon (sensors preferable), bring up and development boards, processors, electronic equipment and computer hardware and software.Knowledge of production silicon development processes & critical milestones, quality expectations, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective achievement of research goals.Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and research → production methods.Knowledge of custom silicon developmentMinimum qualifications5+ years experience in the design and development of new silicon chips and IP in the consumer electronics industry.5+ years of program management experience interfacing internal and external partners.Experience in the design and development of silicon for mobile systems.Interest in being a great communicator. Versatility in presenting and facilitating to all levels of the organization technical and non-technical content.Project management, leadership, dependency management, and cross-group collaboration experience across more than one geographic location.Experience working with a cross-disciplinary team of researchers, software engineers, silicon and hardware engineers.Understanding of sensor and semiconductor device manufacturing, testing, and experience in delivering high volume silicon for system integration.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience communicating program status to key cross-functional stakeholders and leadership.Preferred QualificationsUnderstanding of sensors, optoelectronics and semiconductor device manufacturing, characterization, packaging, and camera module integration.Understanding of silicon prototyping and validation using FPGAs and emulators.Experience working in a high risk, fast-paced research environment, driving custom silicon programs where no predecessor chip exists.Experience in new technology development, comfortable with unknowns, ambiguity and risk taking.Experience with technology transfer from a research team to production.Experience managing a multi-generational silicon program
