Job Title: Project Manager II 28277-1Duration: 6 Months (W2 Possible Conversion)Location: Menlo Park, CAThe Central Research Programs Team implements global operational systems, connects teams and knowledge, and problem solves operational hurdles to enable Researchers to do their most impactful work. Our team is comprised of experts in problem solving and multitasking. In this role you’ll work closely with Researchers and Research Program Managers to execute and deliver on initiatives, ensuring the highest quality work is being conducted.In this role you will support our org’s virtual event logistics and project manage our external publishing platform. We are looking for a project manager who is flexible and can pivot and adapt to the needs of our team as they arise, taking on different projects accordingly.The ideal candidate is a self-starter, resourceful, highly organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative. We are looking for someone that is able to facilitate our teams’ best work by driving and delivering projects to completion – managing timelines, anticipating project issues and resolving them, connecting resources to needs, and removing barriers to doing great work. We need an expert in problem solving and multitasking. You must be comfortable in an extremely fast-paced environment where you’ll need to have good judgment and be able to find solutions on the fly.This role requires project management experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to manage complex logistics, and a highly organized approach are mandatory. This is a full-time contract position. Responsibilities:General project management & coordinationDrive and support projects and initiatives for the Research Programs TeamMove initiatives forward, raise concerns to appropriate owners early and resolve open issues that prevent progress. Hold the line when the schedule or progress is in jeopardy while maintaining respectful relationshipsPredict roadblocks and obstacles and prioritize competing needs with good reasoning and creative solutionsContribute to processes and tools, updating documentation and initiating improvements where neededProvide flexible approaches that meet the team’s needs, including the ability to move fast and make progress or navigate blocks quicklyVirtual event logistics for quarterly Team All Hands, Annual Summit, and additional internal and external org eventsCreate and manage detailed work back plans for large scale team events, flagging risks, following up with owners on specific action items and escalating as neededManage presenters, including collecting slide decks, ensuring all session information is up to date, communicate logistics & day-of information, and triage questionsCreate and maintain event wikisTriage questions from org as neededPartner with team members to produce quarterly Research All HandsProvide support for annual team wide summitAssist with external recruiting event logistics Requirements:3+ years of relevant or related Program or Project Management experienceExcellent organization skills, with the ability to multi-task and juggle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environmentTrack record of operating independently and delivering results, embracing ambiguity, demonstrating creativity, being detail-oriented, and delivering results in a highly organized mannerAbility to be successful in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires independent time management, task prioritization, flexibility, and keen ability to identify problems and proactively work towards solutionsInterpersonal and collaboration skillsVerbal and written communication skills for interacting with and influencing researchers and cross functional stakeholders with the ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiencesPreferred QualificationsGeneral knowledge of research and/or UX designExperience working in Tech
