Job Title: Program Manager IV 27441-1Duration: 12 monthsJob Type: W2Job Location: Ashburn, VAJob Description:The main function of a non-IT program manager is to plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as engineering, research and development, financial systems and product roll-out, etc or any other non-IT based project.Job Responsibilities:• Coordinate projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.• Present and explain proposals, reports and findings to clients.• Recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.• Analyze technology, resource needs and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.• Confer with management, production and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures.• Review and recommend or approve contracts and cost estimates.• Direct, review and approve product designs and changes.• Consult or negotiate with clients to prepare project specifications.? Top 3 must-have HARD skills: 1 Strong Spreadsheet Skills (formulas, data structures, and analysis) (MS Excel and/or Google Sheets)2 Strong expertise in Project Scheduling (MS Project or Primavera P6), especially ability to create schedules from-scratch applying best practices, WBS development, and techniques for scheduling in detail.3 Excellent organizational, technical writing, and note taking skills.? Good to have skills: 1 Process improvement2 Creating WBS and WBS Data Dictionaries3 Scripting skills (i.e VisualBasic, etc.)- 5+ years working as a contributing member of a project team.- Demonstrated expertise applying the must have skills above as well as applying core project management tools, techniques, and methodologies.- Passionate about project management. Someone who “nerds-out” about creating order from chaos.- Strong familiarity with PMBOK or related processes and methodologies.
