Job Title: Program Manager III 26188-1Duration: 12 monthsJob Type: W2Job Location: Menlo Park, CAJob Description: Meta’s Civil Rights Team seeks an experienced, highly motivated Program Manager to support the team in addressing civil rights in technology. This position requires strong program management skills, excellent communication and organizational abilities, and an interest in civil rights issues and the impacts of technology and social media on individuals, communities, and society. You will work most closely with the Associate General Counsel for Civil Rights in Technology. Meta’s mission is to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together. We’re looking for someone who can juggle multiple projects at once and help keep the Civil Rights Team organized as we ensure our artificial intelligence/machine learning, data analysis and governance, augmented reality, virtual reality, and other technologies do not harm members of marginalized communities and that our technologies and platforms benefit all our communities. A successful candidate is excited by taking on and leading complex and cutting-edge projects, thrives in a fast-paced environment and can seamlessly drive success working with multiple cross-functional stakeholders. You must be a self-starter, able to identify issues early and drive to resolution independently. As a member of the Civil Rights Team, you will support Meta’s ongoing efforts to ensure that significant company decisions are made through a civil rights lens. In particular, you’ll help the Civil Rights Team address the ways civil rights intersects with technology.Responsibilities: • Organize, prioritize, and manage programs and projects effectively. • Think strategically and exercise excellent judgment in order to execute projects successfully.• Conduct research using analytical, creative, and problem-solving skills.• Confer with members of teams across the company to determine project specifications and procedures. • Present and explain proposals, reports and findings.• Support other Civil Rights engagements and strategic projectsSkills: • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.• Strong project management experience.• Leadership skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback. • Understanding of discrimination concepts, including both intentional and unintentional discrimination.• Proven experience working collaboratively across a wide variety of functions to drive effective outcomes.• Experience working inside fast-moving companies/organizations.• Strong knowledge of Office 365 and Google Suites. • Knowledge of SQL, R, Tableau, C++, PyTorch, or similar software not required, but is a plus.Education/Experience: • Bachelor’s degree or demonstrated experience.• Data analyst or data science certification not required, but is a plus.
