Do you have a passion for innovation and ensuring the highest level of design and execution? Our Client is seeking an experienced Product Design Leader to drive the vision, direction, and innovation of our design system that consists of visual style, UI components and methods to ease adoption. The ideal candidate will take a systems-mindset to build and integrate consistent, efficient components across the product portfolio. Emphasis will be on the complete systems life-cycle, from establishing a practice and vision that endures to design, build, document, and maintain a library used by all Client App product teams. This is a unique leadership opportunity to directly impact the more than a billion monthly users that come to News Feed.Duties:Lead the visual and technical direction of the experience design, visual style, and technical tooling, with input from director-level peers of product design and development teams.Report team and system progress regularly to primary director leads and executive/VP-level sponsors.Direct scope of systems concerns and relevant products to adopt it.Present the system’s mission, library, and process to other groups, including product managers, content specialists, other design and development teams throughout the enterprise.Review library docs for editorial quality, consistency, and usefulness.Conduct quarterly or bi-yearly one-on-one reviews with team members to identify successes, challenges, perspectives and preferences.Identify and nurture team growth and culture, identifying opportunities for team members to drive and lead system aspects.Collaborate with teams across the org to drive design alignmentDirect the design system governance process to ensure adherence to standards as well as opportunities to evolve the system and scale innovation.Behavioral CompetenciesLeadershipOrganizedAssertivenessMeticulousIntegrity & trustManaging & planning systemsQualifications:10+ years experience: web-based sites and/or applications, information architecture, interaction design, delivering digital experiences that delight usersStrong systems thinker with evidence of delivering robust and extensible design patterns.Experience designing with data and metrics in mind.Strong commitment to design craft and execution as part of the development cycle.Strong communication skills with the ability to explain ideas to others clearly and diplomatically.A passion for influencing teams and driving the highest quality of design standards.Enjoys bringing clarity to chaos; Thrives in ambiguity and drives towards coherence.Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex, sometimes abstract, concepts clearly and persuasively.Demonstrates strategic product thinking and vision.Well rounded hy-brid designer with competency in product thinking, Interaction Design, and Visual DesignPrototyping skills preferred.Education:Bachelor’s degree in graphic, visual, or web design or equivalent experience
