Job Title: Process Engineer I (16670-1)Type: W2 ContractDuration: 12 months with possibility to extendLocation: US – Redmond, WAClient: Leading Social Media CompanySummary:Facebook Reality Labs is looking for an experienced and highly self-motivated Process Engineer / Materials Engineer to develop next generation near to eye display and imaging systems at our research center in Redmond, WA. This is a short-term contract position for 12 months, could extend to 18 months and beyond, depending on the outcome and project needs. We prefer someone who can start right away. Job Responsibilities:Work closely with research staffs to develop advanced optical components in a cleanroom setting:• Work closely with research scientists on making engineering samples of next generation optical elements for AR/VR HMDs;• Work on materials formulation and process optimization, identify materials options, process flows, and critical reliability issues;• Work closely with optical/mechanical/electrical engineers on critical optical devices fabrication setups;• Record, analyze and solve problems in the fabrication process, perform quality analysis in the materials and/or process;• Document prototyping process and characterization results in details;• Follow all safety protocols, especially chemical safety and laser safety. Skills:• Ability to track and organize documentation, experiment results, standard operating procedures (SOPs), work-in-progress (WIP) logs• Ability to design and implement process development plans, design of experiments (DOE), establishing critical process parameters and quality control strategies• Experienced in organic/polymer film coating and processing, or nano-fabrication process.• Experienced in material formulation, process optimization and characterization;• 100+ hours of hands on working experience in clean room environment;• Hands-on experience on using basic prototyping & metrology tools;• Effective communication & documentation skills;• “Can-do” attitude.Education/Experience:• Bachelor’s degree (or above) in Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, etc.Candidate Requirements / Must Haves:Spin coatingPolymer processPrototyping experience
