Job Title: Mechanical Engineer IV (17174-1)Type: W2 ContractDuration: 6 months with possibility to extend for 2 years or possible conversionLocation: US – Seattle, WA (Possibly travel to Redmond)Client: Leading Social Media CompanySummary:The main function of a mechanical engineer is to research and investigate the design, functionality and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes. A typical mechanical engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.Job Responsibilities:• Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices.• Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects.• Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendation to maintenance crew.• Oversee installation, operation, maintenance and repair to ensure that machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.• Design, develop, manufacture, and test mechanical components, fixtures, and subsystems for consumer electronics applications.• Research and analyze supplier and XFN design proposals to determine performance feasibility for targeted applications.• Investigate design failures and iterate on/improve designs to make successful.• Oversee testing of assigned subsystems, perform data analysis of results, and generate detailed reports of outcomes.• Analyze designs for manufacturing, assembly, cost, size, etc. and provide improvement recommendations accordingly. Implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.Minimum Skills:• Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.• Team player and detail oriented.• Displays attributes of a critical thinker and leverages innovative ideas.• Strong leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.• Advanced ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.• Advanced ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.• Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).• Advanced ability to make 3D models and 2D engineering drawings using GD&T. • Previous experience with 3D modeling software like NX or Creo (NX preferred).• Previous experience with data analysis tools like Excel or Matlab (Matlab preferred). • Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.• Team player and detail oriented.• Displays attributes of a critical thinker and leverages innovative ideas. Preferred Skills:• Previous experience with microcontrollers like Raspberry Pi, Arduino• Previous experience with control algorithms for motors Education/Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
