Job Title: Localization Project Manager 34324-1Duration: 12 Months (W2 Possible Conversion)Location: Menlo Park, CAResponsibilities:Create and execute on the localization schedule.Review, prioritize, and track progress of issues that affect localized product content relevancy, quality, and functionalityWorking with vendors to ensure all assignments are understood, timelines are followed, and deliveries completed correctly and on timeAnalyze localizability and localization workflow issues and provide optimal solutionsSupport cross-functional teams and stakeholders (Product, Engineering, Marketing, etc.) to ensure localization requirements are implemented and localization process is well understoodWork with product teams across Facebook to ensure localizability best practices are followed to minimize downstream issues and decrease cost and time-to-market for the localized versionsSkills:1-3 years of experience with localization engineering and/or managementBA/BS in technical discipline or equivalent experienceExperience with localization platforms, file formats and CAT tools – such as SDL Trados Studio, Idiom WorldServer, or any similar in-house localization tools and platform that manages and/or automates the translation workflow.Ability to communicate clearly and efficientlyAbility to stay focused under pressure, prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environmentPreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of standard web technologies such as PHP, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript and accessibilityFamiliarity with the Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and OculusEngineering and/or hands-on programming experienceKnowledge of additional languages other than EnglishEducation:BA/BS in technical discipline or equivalent experienceTop Must have skills:Customer service focus/skillsIndustry experience in localization (translating content or working as PC or PM) – hard to ramp up without this & the ramp up time is quick for this role Nice to Have skills:Localization engineering experience – not a requirement at all but would be cool because part of the role is looking at processes and how to automateDocumentation – team documents processes and makes sure things make sense
