Job Title: Lab Manager IV Req: 20978-1 Type: W2 Contract.Duration: 6 MonthsLocation: Sunnyvale CA*Must be authorized to work in US*SummaryOur Client is seeking a Lab Manager to focus on end to end ownership of operations and maintenance of the optical and test labs. This role requires working with and supporting an engineering team on multiple projects, while building, maintaining and operating engineering lab spaces. The role requires fundamental understanding of optics, mechanics and electronics.ResponsibilitiesWork with engineers and technicians across multiple teams to support and maintain an efficient and clean lab environment for prototyping, R&D and test purposes.Document and implement standard operating procedures to enable internal engineers and third parties to follow internal methodologies.Allocate benches and test equipment to engineers based on project schedule and needs.Review test equipment specs with engineers, work with vendors to get quotes, and file PO.Set up and tear down test and prototyping stations as needed.Provide test equipment needs and forecasts for budget planning.Perform lab asset management such as: storage and disposal, transportation, shipping, calibration, and audit. Maintain equipment and inventory database.Train team members on specialized equipment usage and lab practices.Monitor lab utilities, manage tasks related to labs, file PO’s and procure tools and equipment based on the needs.Work with facilities to ensure safety, regulatory, and quality requirements are metMaintain compliance with lab certifications and local requirementsMinimum qualifications:BA in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optics or related field.5+ years of experience in lab setup, management, and maintenance.Experience with and fundamental understanding of optical components, optical bench tools, electronics test equipment, and mechanics.Experience with procurement systems and inventory management.Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power meters, cameras.Exceptional organizational skills and ability to maintain a clean and organized working environment.Great communication and cross-functional skills.Preferred qualificationsExperience working with lasers and exposure to laser safety protocols and procedures.Experience with creating inventory systems and working with programming in Excel or similar software.Exposure to running code in Python, MATLAB.
