Fabric R&D Job Description: Responsibilities: Analyze fabric needs; Partner with Product Development and Merchandising to insure that fabrics are within the V/G/B/B pricing architecture.; Demonstrate a sound understanding of design, merchandising, and product development priorities.; Support fabric process discipline throughout product-to-market calendar to ensure alignment at each key milestone from Mill Week to Fabric Alignment and Sampling.; Maintain a fabric and wash resource library to support seasonal inspiration as well as archive Gap Brand production fabrics.; Track Fabric development KPIs and brand discipline on number of seasonal developments.; Track fabric testing report and risk assessment tool to level set expectations across functional areas.;Support fabric pricing guidelines for line plan.* The Manager of Fabric leverages consumer insights, mill strategies, and key trends to drive fabric development, innovation, costing and positioning. He/She will support a ‘Fabric First’ mentality and strategy throughout the product-to-market process. He/She also provides direction and thought partnership to their team in NY as well as their Mill Management and Fabric Engineering peers in Asia based on cross-functional strategies.*What are the Top Three Skills needed to perform this role/job that we can confirm with our search?*Understanding constructions, weaves, finishes in woven fabrications*PLM experience*Knowledge of Fabric Testing
