The typical automation engineer is responsible for detailed design specifications and other documents in the process of creation.Job Responsibilities:? Handle escalations from deployment team and automation? Work on alerts and support tickets? Assess urgency/impact of the issue, determine priority? Troubleshoot workflows and tools, perform RCA, unblock deployment processes by performing a workaround or a permanent fix.Communication & Coordination? Work with vendors and ISPs in order to¦ Schedule & coordinate deployment, maintenance and decom activities¦ Perform hardware troubleshooting and RMA¦ Provide assistance using remote sessions and smart hands? Work with other teams, internal and XFN in order to¦ Perform escalations and work with system & tooling owners towards a resolution Automation? Conceptualize, build, and maintain workflows and tools to support network deployment? Drive scaling efforts across the global network Documentation? Networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, load balancing, switching, and routing? Knowledge of IPv6 and BGP? General knowledge of Content Delivery Networks and/or Internet Peering strategies Systems? Proficient working with linux shell, its main commands and tools? Knowledge of container technologies such as LXC and Docker? Knowledge of Databases (e.g. MySQL) and a general knowledge of SQL? Knowledge of CI/CD process and systems like Jenkins, Gitlab, Bamboo? Knowledge of Infrastructure as a code solutions such as Ansible, Chef and Puppet Automation? Knowledge of one or more programming languages (Java, C#, Python, PHP, GO or similar)? Experience with scripting languages (Bash/sh/perl/powershell or similar)? Knowledge of JavaScript / React is a plusEducation/Experience:• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
